contemplative

current mood: ;-)

Hi! My name is Theresa and I feel called to the Benedictine order. I am having a hard time finding the right community and was wondering if anyone around here knows of a good one. Here are the qualities I am looking for;

1. Benedictine.

2. A habit.

3. Daily Eucharistic Adoration.

4. Active.

If anyone knows of a community like this, please let me know! Thanks!

-Theresa

I don't think I know of any that hits all four, but I can do two (maybe three) times three out of the four.

1. Tyburn. They're Benedictine, habited and have perpetual adoration. However, they're contemplative - an acquaintance of mine entered there nearly ten years ago and I've taken Confirmation candidates to Tyburn in London to learn about the Martyrs. Cracking nuns, they really are!

2. The Grace and Compassion Benedictines. They're Benedictine, habited and active, but I'm not sure if Adoration fits into their schedule on a daily basis. I used to live in the same diocese as the UK's Generalate and had occasional contact with them, but I don't really know that much.

3. Tutzing Missionary Benedictines. They're Benedictine, habited and active, but again I'm not sure how often they have Adoration and the website isn't forthcoming. This is the group I know the least - I was visiting a (contemplative) Benedictine monastery in Germany last Spring and another girl who was staying there at the time was due to enter Tutzing in September.

I hope this helps a little - sorry I couldn't offer something that ticked all four boxes!

Love and prayers,

tibba
